The NASM™ Senior Fitness Specialization program is structured around 7 essential modules covering all the skills required to effectively support the senior population in a safe, adapted, and results-driven coaching context.

Chapter 1: Scope of Practice of the Senior Fitness Specialist

Understanding the role, responsibilities, and limitations of a coach specialized in training older adults.

Chapter 2: Aging – physical, physiological, and psychological aspects

Analyzing the key age-related changes and their impact on health, performance, and independence.

Chapter 3: Assessment strategies for seniors

Learning how to perform appropriate functional assessments to identify capabilities and specific needs.

Chapter 4: Training components for seniors

Understanding the essential elements of an adapted program: strength, endurance, mobility, balance, and coordination.

Chapter 5: Program design

Building progressive, safe, and individualized training programs aimed at maintaining and improving physical condition.

Chapter 6: Nutrition and specific recommendations

Integrating nutrition principles adapted to aging to support health and recovery.

Exams

The course concludes with one theoretical exam.

The final exam is administered online via the learning platform. It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions to be completed within a maximum of 90 minutes. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass the course. Three exam attempts are included in the course fee.

The exam must be completed within 365 days from the date of purchase.

Qualification

After successfully passing the multiple-choice exam, you will receive the "NASM™ Senior Fitness Specialization" certificate on your NASM™ account.

To participate in this course, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a NASM™ Certified Personal Trainer certification (or equivalent).
